Construction Laborer / Equipment Operator

D. G. Granade, Inc. is looking to hire 2–3 construction laborers for an approximately four-week field assignment.

This is a hands-on position primarily involving aggregate base placement and compaction. Previous construction or equipment experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train dependable people who show up ready to work.

The Work

The work will primarily include:
  • Working as a ground person alongside equipment
  • Spreading and grading aggregate base
  • Raking and shoveling material to grade
  • Operating a tractor to move and spread aggregate
  • Operating a roller for compaction
  • Assisting with grade preparation and compaction
  • General material handling and site cleanup
  • Other general construction labor as needed

This is physical, outdoor construction work. You need to be comfortable working on your feet, using hand tools, raking and shoveling material, and working around construction equipment.

What We're Looking For

Experience is a plus, but reliability and effort are the most important qualifications for this position.

You should:
  • Show up every day and be on time
  • Be willing to work hard and stay productive
  • Be able to follow directions
  • Work safely around equipment and other crew members
  • Be capable of physical construction labor
  • Be willing to learn to operate a tractor and roller
  • Take care of company tools and equipment
  • Have reliable transportation

Experience with sitework, grading, aggregate base, compaction, tractors, rollers, skid steers, or similar equipment is preferred but not required.

Position

  • Temporary construction position – approximately 4 weeks
  • 2–3 positions available
  • Full-time during the project
  • Immediate start
  • Pay based on skill and experience
